It is with Great Sadness and a Heavy Heart, we announce that James “Jim” Bass passed away after a brave battle with cancer at the age of 58 in George West, TX on January 27th, 2020. He was born on September 17th, 1961 in Victoria, TX to Richard Emory and Clara Margaret Bass.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: E.W. and Christine Bass of Corpus Christi, and Jim and Mary Wood of Port Lavaca; his father, Richard Emory, his aunts: Charlotte Manuel; his uncle: Charles Ray Wood and his grandson: Killian Alexander Michlowitz.
He is survived by his wife of 12 and a half years: Rosenne Trevino; his two sons: Joe Trevino (Elizabeth), and Joshua Michlowitz (Rose Sanchez); his three grandchildren: James and Joeslynn Trevino, and Alaric David Michlowitz; his mother: Clara Margaret Bass; his siblings: Richard “Rick” Bass, Daniel Bass, and Laura Roberts; Aunt: Mary Alice Cassel; several nieces and nephews, and numerous family and friends.
Jim was a kind, loving, funny, and intelligent man with a unique sense of style. His faith in God never wavered. He was a Navy Veteran who served proudly for many years. Jim enjoyed driving a truck, photography, playing guitar with his grandson, and just being with his family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
