Irene was a proud San Antonio girl who was also a kind, gentle soul. Irene was electric. You always knew when she entered into a room. Irene’s infectious laugh and smile would instantly turn the party volume up a few notches. Her eyes were windows into her beautiful soul, a bright light who always found a friend in everyone. Raised a sports fan by her dad, Rocky, Irene was a loyal and fierce fan of her San Antonio Spurs, Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and the mighty Judson Rockets. A 1993 graduate at Judson High School, Irene never let anyone forget that “Rocket Pride never dies”. And she would also remind you that her Rockets Football team went to the Texas UIL State Championship 11 times, walking away with a total of six Texas HS State titles.
Irene worked hard, played hard, and loved even harder. But Irene’s love for her family was unmatched. There was nothing she desired more than to spend time with family. ANY family. Holidays and birthdays, weddings and quinceñeras, or just any day of the week, Irene yearned to spend time with her family. In Irene’s world, any time or any day spent with anyone in her family was more than just a good day, it was a great day. Irene lived for the joy in a simple moment, or the roar heard while being in a crowd at a huge event. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, Godmother, sister and friend who will be missed greatly.
