Humberto F. Valdez Jr.

Humberto F. Valdez Jr., age 88, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. Humberto was born in San Antonio, Texas to Hermelinda and Humberto Valdez. Humberto received an Associates Degree in Business from San Antonio College. He was also a soldier in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958, where after he worked at Kelly Air Force Base as an Aviation Electronic Supervisor, retiring in December 1990.

Humberto is preceded in death by his late wife, Margarita G. Valdez; his mother and father, Hermelinda Flores and Humberto Valdez; his sisters, Maria Luisa Flores & Delfina, Velia Watts, and Margaret Novak; his brothers, Joe Sanchez, Arturo Sanchez, and Ricardo Valdez; and his grandparents, Soledad Rodriguez and Aurelio Flores.

He is survived by his wife, Francis Valdez; his daughters, Hilda Valdez and Sylvia Orta (Gerard); his step children, Anthony Knight and Maria Caldwell (Greg) and grand daughter Isla; his step grandchildren, Catrina Santa Cruz (Surgess); great grandchildren Sarina and Cartar; and grand children Jordan Knight and Ted Rodriguez.

A visitation for Humberto will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78205. The funeral procession will depart the following morning, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 10:30 AM for a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St James Catholic Church, 907 W Theo Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78225. A graveside service will follow at San Fernando #2 Cemetery, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78237.
