Harvey “Sparky” Sparks passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was born to Sidney and Juana Leigh “Jane” Sparks on August 17, 1940 in Alice, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Yoshiko. He is survived by children, Karen Embree and her husband, Mike, and Eric Sparks and his wife, Mary; his grandchildren, Caitlin and Samantha Sparks; his step-mother, Ruth Sparks; brothers, Tom Sparks, Stephen Sparks, and Sebio Carpio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 9th from 4-7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218. The funeral service will on Saturday, December 10th at 2 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
