He is preceded in death by his son, Gus T. Garcia, his loving parents; Camilio and Rita Garcia, along with 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by his wife, Santiaga T. Garcia and daughter Patricia T. Garcia, He has 5 Grandchildren,16 Great grandchildren and 5 Great-Great grandchildren achieving a lineage of 5 generations. Gust also has numerous nieces and nephews and 1 surviving sister.
Gust proudly served his nation through the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of service.
Afterwards, he worked for a local freight line as a tractor trailer driver for 20 years with a second retirement. He then was employed part time 14 years as a greeter and account receivables with an established restaurant.
Gust enjoyed spending time with his family, going on vacations with his grandchildren, but especially loved going to casinos with his wife.
The Visitation will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. followed by a Rosary to be recited on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Procession will depart on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m Mass of The Resurrection at St. Henry Catholic Church, 1619 S Flores Street, San Antonio, Texas 78204. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
