Guadalupe Mex Gutierrez, born on February, 26, 1928 in Victoria TX. Passed December 31, 2014 at the age of 85 in San Antonio, TX. He is predeceased by his son Javier Gutierrez, his sister Blaza, his mother Dominga Arias, and his father Juan Gutierrez. He is survived by his son Joe M. Gutierrez and daughter Terrie Gonzales, brother Ernesto Gutierrez, sister Beatrice, sister Mary, eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He honorably served his country in WWII, Korea, and multiple Vietnam tours. He received his bachelors degree at the proud age of 67. He loved helping others and started El Barrio Learning Center. Words cannot explain the depth of our loss. Ol’ Mex loved poetry here’s one of his own:

Funeral services will be held at Trevino’s on 2525 Palo Alto, San Antonio, TX 78211.
Rosary on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 7:00 pm. A chapel service will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 to 10:30 am. We will proceed to Fort Sam for his military funeral honors that start promptly at 11:15 am.
