GILBERT BRISENO VILLAREAL, (POP) a dedicated father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2012 at the age of 80 years. He was born on May 7, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas, and was a life-long resident. Gilbert was an active member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. He worked over 25 years at Universal Book Bindery and retired after 20 years of dedicated service at BAMC from Civil Service and 5 years at HEB. He loved to fish, travel and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel & Beatrice Villareal; his sisters Josie Mazuca and Margaret Garcia; his brothers, Epifanio and Lonnie Villareal; his son, Andrew C. Villareal; his daughters, Sylvia V. Delgado and Donna V. Ruiz. He lived a full life and loved his family of 9 childern, 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Survivors include his sister Nellie Martinez; sister in law Stella Villareal; his loving companion of 25 years, Sarah Flores, sons Gilbert C. (Rita) Villareal, Steven C. (Jeri) Villareal, Mark C. (Liz) Villareal; daughters Rachel L. Villareal, Norma (Larry) Delp, Lisa (Don) Marshburn and son in law, Lupe Ruiz. We were all blessed to have him in our life and he will be missed dearly by his family. The family wishes to thank the staff at Methodist Specialty & Transplant and Vita’s Hospice group for their kindness and loving care. The family will receive friends at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers on Sunday, September 30th, 2012 from 2 to 9 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 am, October 1, 2012 for a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church (5919 Ingram Road).
