Gilbert L. Castañeda was called home to be with the Lord, on September 8, 2015 at the age of 87. He is preceded in death by his siblings; Francisca, Alicia, Irene, Felipe, Raul and parents Petra Garza & Felipe Castañeda. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife, of 64 years of marriage, Juanita V. Castañeda, his beloved children; Lydia Urdiales(Gerardo), Gilbert Castañeda Jr. (Debby), David Castañeda, Cecilia Castañeda, son-in-law Oscar Tortolero, brother Robert Castañeda, grandchildren; Gilbert III, Jillian, Leah, Michael, Esteban, Rachel, Phillip, Lydia, Diego, great grandchildren; Stephen, Molly, Aliyah, Emma, Johnny, Gil, Claudia ,Calvin and Julian. Visitation will begin on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Road, with a Memorial Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. that same evening in the funeral home chapel. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Monday, September 14, 2015 after a 10:00 a.m. Chapel Service with Interment to follow at First Memorial Burial Park.
