Gerald L. VanSickle Sr.

Gerald Lee VanSickle Sr., of Bulverde, Texas passed away on September 12, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hutchinson, Kansas to Cecil F. VanSickle and Revae I. (Rudicel) VanSickle.

Gerald was an extremely hard-working man and retired as a MSgt after 22 plus years of faithful service in the United States Air Force. Upon his retirement, Gerald worked civil service until his ultimate retirement after nearly 35 years of combined federal service. When Gerald wasn’t hard at work he enjoyed working on “Do it yourself” projects around the house and was able to fix anything he put his mind to. He also enjoyed watching classic movies and fishing, but spending time with his family was his greatest joy.

Gerald was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister Laquita J. (VanSickle) Boyd. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years Virginia Catherine (Venditti) VanSickle of Bulverde Texas, his son and daughter in law Gerald Lee VanSickle Jr. & Fern Iola (Hime) VanSickle of Bulverde Texas, his son Aaron Christopher VanSickle of Bulverde Texas, his daughter Terri Lynn Banker of Hutchinson Kansas, his beloved grandchildren: grandson Gerald Lee VanSickle III of Bulverde Texas, granddaughter Jacquelyn Victoria VanSickle of Cypress Texas, grandson Max Banker of Hutchinson Kansas, and granddaughter Jana Banker of Santa Monica, California, his great granddaughter Karter Banker, and great grandson Michael Banker - both of Hutchinson Kansas.

A committal service for Gerald will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM, please arrive at 1:00 PM if attending, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter #2), 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
