Gerald W. Graham was peacefully called to his eternal home on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Born in San Antonio, Texas on July 1, 1941 to Samuel and Mittie Graham, Gerald was born a humble man and that is also how he left us. He was an amazing individual. He never met a stranger. He always had a smile and a kind word, no matter if he knew you for five years or five seconds. When he was around, you always felt like you were the most important person in the world. He was charming and loving, strong yet gentle, faithful yet determined, and generous to a fault.
There was nothing that he couldn't do once he put his mind to it. Whether it was singing on any number of stages (including the Farmer’s Daughter), teaching dance lessons at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, working hard to earn an honest living as a plumber, a printer, a businessman, a salesman, a ranch hand, or a Hospice CNA, Gerald put his heart and soul into every endeavor. He would always say, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.” He was a Master Mason at the Davy Crockett Lodge and a Shriner with Alzafar Shrine Temple.
But first and foremost, he was a father. He always took time for his children. He knew exactly how to help and didn't even need to use words. Gerald was very patient and loved his kids. He taught them core values and to be independent, brave, loyal, and kind. He had an amazing sense of humor right up to his last days. He was in service to others all of this life. Most importantly, he was a very faithful servant of God and now is in the hands of the Lord, and reunited with Mom, the love of his life.
Gerald will be sorely missed by all and most importantly, by his family,
whom he loved and was dedicated to taking care of his entire life.
