Gail Mac Auley, age 79, passed away July 29, 2017. She was born on June 24, 1938 in Troy, New York to Elmer and Elsie Cole. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Her passion and caring for others led her to a successful career as a Registered Nurse. A career that lasted 40+ years, during which time she fell in love with Thomas, love of her life, and started a family that would see her move across the country. Happiness saw her with two children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her gratifications came from, but were not limited to, the Church, family, friends, travel, learning, reading and board games.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Elsie Cole, and her husband of 39+ years, Thomas “Tom” Mac Auley.
Gail is survived by her daughter Susan and her husband Carlos Corona; Gail’s son Michael Mac Auley and his wife Kimberli, their daughter Madeline, Michael’s son Joseph, daughter Nicole and her daughter Serenity. Gail’s brother and sister in law, Dr. David and Susan Long, their son’s Adam, Alex and his wife Julie and their daughter McKinley. Gail’s cousin Elaine and Al Valenty, and many family and friends she loved deeply; Walter Bell, Robert and Carolyn Bell, Jan Dyer, Chris and Linda Wong, Debbie Brown, parishioners at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, along with Father Brad Landry and other Clergy. And last but not least, her cat Sasha.
Gail was loved for her good heart, loving nature, and warm smile.
Visitation will be 5-7p.m., Monday, August 7, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2007 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1018 E. Grayson, San Antonio, TX 78208. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
