Frances Lopez Aguilar was born October 10, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas and passed away peacefully on April 6, 2014 with her family at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her daughter Silvia Ramirez, husband Victor O. Aguilar, mother Maria Lopez and father Francisco Lopez. Although she didn’t have the opportunity to finish school, her wisdom and compassion more than made up for her lack of a formal education. Her children could always count on seeing her meeting with teachers and attending PTA when they were younger. She made sure that her children finished school and saw them go on to college. This was a point that was deeply instilled in her children and passed on to her grandchildren. A dedicated sports fan, the demands of her illness never dampened her support of the Dallas Cowboys or especially our San Antonio Spurs. Her family and friends could always call her after a Spurs game to find out the score, how many points did Tim or Tony score or how many minutes did Manu play. She is survived by her daughter Lucy Cruz (Reymundo), son Mario Aguilar (Diana), granddaughters Elda, Diana and Lydia Jean, grandsons Rey, Arnold Jr., Victor and Daniel. Frances also had two great- granddaughters and four great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Treviño Funeral Home (226 Cupples Road) on Tuesday April 14, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Everyone is to meet at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (8500 Cross Mountain Road) on April 15, for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass with internment following at Mission Burial Park South (1700 S.E. Military Drive).
