Fernando V. Torres, known to all as “Cowboy”, loving father, son, and brother entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2010 at the age of 52. He was born on February 23, 1958 in San Antonio, TX. Fernando honorably served in the United Sates Marine Corps and was a proud American. He was preceded in death by his father, Eduardo A. Torres; and sister, Rosalie Vargas. He is survived by his children, Amber and her mother Rena, Genesis and her mother Socorro, and Joshua and his mother Elsa; mother, Guadalupe and husband Carlos Castillo; siblings, Irma and husband Larry Ortiz, Norma Jean and husband Greg Montalvo, Edward V. Torres, and Dorothy and husband Rene Solis; numerous nieces and nephews who thought the world of him, many close friends that he loved dearly, and his beloved pets. A visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2010 at Roy Akers Funeral Home and a Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
