She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Arnulfo Gomez; sons, Robert Gomez and Roy Cordova. She is survived by Maria (Lupe) G. Delgado, Arnulfo L. Gomez (Jane), Carolina G. Maldonado (Jesse), five grandchildren; Andrew Maldonado (Maricris), Aaron Maldonado, Adam Delgado, Lauren Smith, Jenny Kaberline; and four great grandchildren; Adallyn Maldonado, Josie Smith, Elle English and Riley English.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was affiliated and active in several ministries. She was also a Charter Member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Eva attended Lanier High School and also attended San Antonio College where she received an associate degree and became licensed in childcare. Thus, allowing her to pursue her dream of opening a childcare center called “Loving Arms Eva.”
The strongest facet in her life was her faith in God. Her religion was the essence and center of all her accomplishments. She also had a loving devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. And to her children she emphasized faith, love, kindness and compassion.
Rosary will be held on January 24th at 7 p.m. at Roy Akers funeral home, 515 N. Main Ave. Mass will be celebrated on January 25th at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 907 W. Theo. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
