Ernestine "Mitzie" Howerton

Ernestine “Mitzie” Howerton (nee Fernandez), born November 30, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas, passed away on January 15, 2020. Mitzie is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rex Howerton, Sr., father, Frederico Fernandez, mother, Juanita Fung Fernandez, sisters, Gloria Gonzalez and Mary Ann “Eddie” Fernandez. Mitzie is survived by her sister Dee Fernandez and brother Fred Fernandez; her five children, Yvonne Yvette Goodwyn (Forrest), Paul Rex Howerton, Jr. (Corinna), Daphne Rene Rodriguez (Abraham), Stephanie Ann Alvarado (Christopher) and Phillip Roger Howerton (Robert); her grandkids, Raymond Paul Howerton (Katy), Chanel Christine Goodwyn (Randy), Savannah Rene Gonzales (Frank), Joshua Paul Howerton (Amie), Megan Elizabeth Howerton (Shane), Ryan Tyler Rodriguez (Alexa) and Breanna Frizzell (Bryce); and, her great grandchildren, Miley Howerton, Rianna Howerton, Landyn Rex Howerton, Taylor Howerton, Marly Gonzales, Rex Gonzales, Harleigh Louise Howerton, Mason Rex Frizzell, Madelyn Brielle Frizzell and Christopher Ryan Rodriguez.

Anyone who knew Mitzie, knows she loved to travel, sit at a slot machine playing Keno for hours, fish, hunt and watch the Dallas Cowboys.

Family will be receiving guests at 4:00PM January 22,2020 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX, 78238. A funeral service will be held at 6:30PM on January 22,2020 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will be at Fort Same Houston National Cemetery January 23rd, 2020 at 9:00AM, Shelter #1.
