Elvia Cristan Garcia

Elvia Cristan Garcia, age 75, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 22, 1937 in Mirando City, Texas She was preceded in death by her parents,Cleofas and Higinia Cristan, her brothers, Pete and Frank Cristan, and her sister, Rosa Cristan Linan. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Armando G. Garcia, her daughter and son- in- law, Monica and Michael J. Karam, her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Armando and Christine Schulte Garcia and her four beloved grandchildren, Zachary and Douglas Karam and Noah and Zoe Garcia.

She is also survived by her sisters, Rosario Canales (Alonso- dec.), Lucy Cristan, and brother Cleofas David Cristan, numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Elvia was a business owner for many years in the San Antonio area starting with A&E Food Market and continuing as operator of Cristan Tacos #2, Cristan’s Tacos at M&S Tower, Cristan’s Mexican Restaurant, Cristan’s At One Riverwalk Place, Cristan’s Express, and Mama Garcia’s Tex- Mex Cuisine in Summerville , South Carolina.

Elvia's family will receive visitors on Thursday March 7, 2013 at 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home at 1701 Austin Hwy. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. George Maronite Church at 6070 Babcock Rd. at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
