With profound sadness I announce the passing of my beloved and devoted mother, Elisa P. Garcia. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 2, 2020. She was born in Hayfield, Iowa on May 31, 1942 to Manuel and Micaela Pena.
Elisa is preceded in passing by her parents; her loving husband: Jose V. Garcia and her sisters: Sarah, Elida and Rachel.
She is survived by her son: Michael Garcia (Teresa); brothers: Robert, Manuel, David and Ruben.
She was a kind and special lady who touched many lives and developed many friendships. She loved caring for her plants, playing Loteria, and was also a member of the Mission San Jose Senior Center where she enjoyed spending time.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings, the visitation for Elisa at Roy Akers Funeral Home – 515 North Main Ave. 78205 – will be limited to only 40 people in the *building at a time. There will be a public visitation period on Tuesday, July 14 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM for brief visits with the family. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm in accordance with the limitations. On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, the Funeral Procession will depart at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church – 236 E. Petaluma 78221- with Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
