Dorothy Jean Van Nostrand (Dottie) was born on August 18, 1930 in Reagan, Texas to Clyde and Eva V.T. (Wallace) Spicer and entered eternal rest on March 28, 2014 in Canyon Lake, TX. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husbands, James Alvin Seay, Larry C. Van Nostrand; three sisters, Evelyn, Geneva, Jeanie; and her daughter, Vicky Corley. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Faye McDonald; sons, Alvin L. Seay, Jimmy E. Seay and wife, Sheila; daughter, Katie Anderson and husband, Richard; Richard Corley and wife, Melissa, David Van Nostrand and wife, Irene. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
