

Dorothy began her career as a seamstress for the White Stag Co., worked in a family business, and spent many years in the hospitality industry. In her later years she managed the home care of her beloved friend, Burton Chatham. Dorothy was a fearless breast cancer survivor since 1972.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Kate Marotta of San Antonio and her three grandchildren, Dr. Gia Hoosien, John Marotta, and AJ Marotta. Dorothy is also survived by the extended family members who loved her including Dr. Michael Hoosien, Elizabeth Zepeda, and Kristina Knifer. The eighth of ten children, she is survived by her brother, Leo Imperiali and his wife Sandy, and her sister Gloria Hellinger and her husband Chuck, and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you is extended to nephew John Giaimo and Melinda for their special love and attention over the years. Dorothy loved to attend the Club Manager's Association of America conventions with her son and was a 'regular' attendee in San Antonio, Anaheim, San Diego, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Las Vegas. She also loved to take trips to Las Vegas with her sisters. Dorothy was past president of the Garden Grove Women's Club, Garden Grove CA, and past president of the Stantonites, Stanton, CA.
She loved to sing karaoke and sang with the Melody Makers, who performed at local events in her hometown of Seal Beach, CA. Her three favorite solos were "I Believe", "Be My Love" and "Climb Every Mountain" which she sang at her granddaughter's wedding.
