Dora Lee Lowrey

Dora Lee Lowrey went to be with the Lord on Thursday July 7, 2011, at the age of 89. She was born August 8, 1921, to Welzie Houchin and Emma Smith in Bunny, Arkansas. Dora graduated from Caraway High school in Caraway, Arkansas and worked in civil service at various military facilities, including Fort Sam Houston, until she retired in 1983, after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 34 years, Johnnie S. Lowrey; brothers, Paul Houchin and his wife Vernie, Urban Houchin and his wife Bonnie; sister, Ruby Ann Houchin; brother, Silas Houchin. Dora is survived by her son, Charles Lowrey and wife Debbie; sister, Betty Houchin Roe; grandson, Brodie Lowrey and his wife Ginna; granddaughter, Brooke Lowrey Hinton and her husband Brett; great grandson, Davis Crues Lowrey and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 14, 2011 from 11:00am to 12:00pm with funeral services at 12:00pm, at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX.
