Diego B. Garcia Sr.

Diego B. Garcia, Sr. born September 16, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas and In peace he returned to his heavenly home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2020. He was 80 years old. As 2 Corinthians 5:8 says, 'We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and be at home with the Lord.'

He was preceded in death by parents, Francisco & Isabel Garcia; son, Diego Garcia, Jr. sister, Elena Quintanilla and brother, Francisco Garcia.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Maria C. Garcia; children, Carlos Garcia, Rose Mary Macias and Christopher J. Garcia; grandchildren, Diego III, Johnathan, Jessica and Timothy Garcia, and Luis and Juan Macias; great grandchildren, Destini and Diego IV, Sebastian and Victoria, and Lilliana; and brothers, Reyes, Antonio, Arnold and George. Diego worked as a truck driver for the city of San Antonio for over 30 years. He enjoyed visits to the flea markets, fishing at the coast, listening to oldies but goodies (50’s music) and spending time with his wife, Maria and family.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2020, at Sunset Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. with a memorial service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
