Diane Olson, age 87, passed away May 28, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Chicago IL to William & Katherine Borre. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. After graduating from Miami University with a degree in education she taught mathematics for several years. An accomplished bridge player, she earned Diamond Life Master status, the highest level available. At 85 she was still bowling in a league and volunteering at a shelter for abused women. Being very generous, she not only provided support to all her children and grandchildren but over ten charities as well. When she became a widow, she was sustained by her faith in Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Melvin Olson being married over fifty years.
Mrs. Olson is survived by her daughters, Lori Verstegen, Christine Cloyd, and Jackie Jabs; and sons David Olson and Danny Olson, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The visitation and catered reception will be 10am, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home with the funeral service at 12 noon. The burial will follow at the Ft. Sam Houston at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her daughter’s charity, HOPE Ministries. Checks can be made out to HOPE and sent to Blanco United Methodist Church at PO Box 339, Blanco, TX 78606.
