Diane Faye Jones

Diane F. Jones, age 88, passed away September 24, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on July 8, 1928 in Denver, CO. to Arnold Esser & Alberta Bates. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. Early life for her was growing up in the house her grandfather built on Rische St. and attending St. Henry’s Catholic School. She loved St. Henry’s so much, she sent her 3 sons there. Diane was always there for her son’s CYO baseball games, school functions or talking to the nun’s about what trouble her boys got into. As time went by and the boys went to high school, Diane worked at USAA as a PBX operator. She retired from USAA and followed her true passions - Rockport & fishing. After JP’s passing Diane spent 15 years in Rockport giving everyone a piece of her mind, whether they wanted to hear it or not, she gave it. Diane came back to San Antonio, to be closer to her grandchildren, Bryan II, Jennifer, Peggy, Annie and Christine. They gave her 9 great-grandchildren who were blessed with her unique style of life!

She was preceded in death by husband, John Paul Jones; and sons, Paul Steven and John Keith.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan & Nancy Jones; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jones; grandchildren, Bryan II & Heather Jones, Jennifer & Joe Bazan, Peggy & Juan Teran, Ann & John Sanchez and Christine Gutierrez; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Matthew, Erika, Belle, Joseph, Riley, Kylie, Kasara, Damien & Leilani; brother, Ron Esser; and very special people, Barbara & Wayne Latham who she loved dearly.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home. The Rosary and Prayer Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.

Mom, you lived your life and spoke your piece with no regrets and for that I am happy. We will miss you. As you always said, “After while crocodile, see you soon.”
