June 14th, 2012 David Brian Anderson lost his battle with dermatomyositis and pneumonia. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Anderson; stepdaughter, Diana MacPherson; mother, Frances; brother, Randal; sister-in-law, Catherine; nephew, James Blackburn and friends too numerous to count.
He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, and Texas A&M and earned a master’s degree from Regus University. His career at USAA spanned nearly 25 years, where he was a dedicated and conscientious employee.
Dave loved a wide range of music, especially writing songs with his friend, Jim Farmer. He loved spending time with his good friends, Tom, Jim, Chris, Kevin, Randy and Javier. He loved sports of all kinds, both watching and participating, especially baseball and was a Spurs basketball fan from day one.
He married the love of his life 10 years ago and loved going on road trips to visit her family in Utah. He was always eager to help her with volunteer projects and willing to help anyone in need. Dave had an enthusiasm for life, and was always happy. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated and caring doctors and medical staff at Methodist Hospital, Dr. Paul H. Smith Jr, at the Nix Hospital and Dr Ricardo Zuniga at Arthritis Associates. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National MS Society, in honor of Dave’s nephew James Blackburn.
A memorial service and reception will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Monday June 25th, at 3:00.
