Daniel Barron was born on December 22, 1951, in Brownsville, Texas to Alfredo and Margarita Barron. He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1975. In 1980, he began his career as a Federal Probation Officer in the Southern District of Texas. In 1994, he received the US Probation Officer of the Year Award. After 28 years of service, he retired with the title of Assistant Deputy Chief.
He had many passions including coaching baseball, playing softball, cheering for the Houston Astros, competing and winning BBQ and fishing competitions, as well as spending time outdoors hunting, kayaking, gardening, and biking the trails of San Antonio.
Daniel Carlos Barron was preceded in death by parents Alfredo and Margarita Barron.
He is survived by Daniel Carlos Barron, Jr. (Jenise) and Brittany Margarita Barron (Alex), brother Alfredo Barron (Denise), sister Olga Barron (Robert), granddaughter Brianna, nephews Kevin, Guy, and niece Felicity.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238. A celebration of life service for Daniel will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238.
