Dan Kelly Crawford passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025. He went to be with the Lord at the age of 78 years. He was born in Vernon, Texas on June 14, 1946, to Kelly Leon Crawford and Quincy Nell Crawford (Simmonds) and was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 40 years, Nancy; son, Chris Crawford (Michelle) and their children, Erin and Riley Crawford; daughter, Tori White (Jesse) and their baby on the way, also his sisters Barbara Crawford and Beverly Teague. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
Dan spent his formative years in Austin, Texas and graduated from McCallum High School in 1964. As a college student at Texas Tech University, he treasured his time in Lubbock, Texas. Dan was a proud part of the roster for the Texas Tech Red Raider baseball team and a member of the Army ROTC. Following graduation in 1969, he pursued his lifelong dream of coaching in San Antonio, Texas.
From a young age, he enjoyed athletic pursuits of all kinds. Dan was an avid racquetball player and competed in the first national tournament as a doubles partner. He also enjoyed water sports, particularly water skiing and scuba diving, the latter being part of the reason he was introduced to what became a professional career of 47 years at Mission Pharmacal Company. His lifelong career in pharmaceuticals was fueled both by his love for education and helping others. Dan, along with the support and help of many, was responsible for the creation, tremendous growth, and success in the urological products sales and marketing division of Mission.
Though all of these things were important parts of his life, being a husband, dad, grandparent, and family man were his most cherished priorities. Those beloved children were a blessing in his life. Although not able to physically do all he would have loved later in life, he lived with a fierce determination to contribute with love, care and prayer. He will always be remembered for aspiring to love and be the blessing to others that they were to him.
His family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Melissa R. Isbell, M.D., Carlos E. Menendez, M.D. and their respective staff, along with Heart-to-Heart Hospice and numerous other gifted healthcare providers.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at Porter Loring Mortuary North, burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Comal Cemetery, located at 301 Peace Ave, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
