Born on October 20, 1950, Cynthia Rose Hackley started her life as an Alabama girl. Descended from Tuskegee graduates, Cynthia spent her childhood playing with friends affected by the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing.
As she grew older, her family made their way to Columbus, OH where she graduated from Columbus Central High School in 1968. After high school she studied at Bowling Green University.
Cynthia enjoyed a great stint of modeling in New York City and living in Philadelphia with her friends.
That all changed when she men her late husband Allen Roger Hackley— a medical student at Ohio State University.
The two hit it off and got married then moved to Cincinnati. Cynthia was working at a police station under Jerry Springer when she had her son Allen Roger Hackley Jr.
The family lived to Dallas where Cynthia flourished socially. She made many friends and held events, one of her greatest achievements was hosting an art show that featured an artist so rare, the Queen of England at the time sent her a personalized letter.
Cynthia then had her second born child, Xanessa Hackley and moved to the San Antonio area to be closer to her son at the University of Texas at Austin.
There she spent a great deal of her time making friends and supporting her husband.
Cynthia loved watching nature shows— anything with scary sharks or bears was a plus!— staying up to date on current events, watching the latest episode of The Real Housewives or 90 Day Fiancé, playing the Lotto (she always said we’d make it big one day!), and shopping for the best deals. Her favorite vacation spots were Mexico and Italy.
She was a woman of many friends and socialized a great deal. She leaves behind her children, Allen Roger Hackley Jr. and Xanessa Hackley; brothers George Bouldin Jr. and Ronald Bouldin; sister-in-law Carol Huff and husband Allen Huff; and brother-in-law Brian Hackley and wife Susan Hackley.
A funeral service for Cynthia will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.
