Corine Mata, of San Antonio, passed away on January 11, 2022, at the age of 64. She was born in San Antonio on February 18, 1957 to Jacinta and Hector C. Mata. Corine worked for the San Antonio Housing Authority for 28 years as a Residence Service Coordinator, retiring on August 6, 2021. She spent her entire career working in Health Care Services. She had many interests and enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, gardening, doing crafts and dancing. Her greatest treasure was family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She cherished her Chihuahuas and her other pets throughout the years. She was spiritual and a servant of God. Corine was a very caring person, willing to help family, friends and relatives, constantly lending out a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Her generosity was beyond measure.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jacinta and Hector C. Mata.
She is survived by her sisters Laura Medellin (Joe), Velia Mata, Rachel Perez (Greg), Patricia Ortiz (Jesse); brothers Hector Mata (Rosie), Lawrence Mata as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She lived a life filled with love, kindness and generosity. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
