Clinton Richard Justl, most beloved son, brother, cherished friend, and loving companion, died peacefully on April 2nd, after a short illness. Born in Dallas, Clint moved to San Antonio in 1983. He attended St. George Episcopal School, Eisenhower Middle School, and Churchill High School. He was in Odyssey of the Mind, Debate, HOSA, German Club, and marching band. Clint’s love of music was apparent in the music he collected, the numerous instruments he played, and the songs he composed.
Clint attended Baylor, UTSA, and SAC where he was pursuing his love of mathematics. A member of Boy Scouts since Tiger Cubs, he achieved the honor of Eagle Scout. He had a passion for the outdoors and nature. Clint was active in volunteering throughout his entire life, including his service as a volunteer firefighter for Bexar-Bulverde County. He always wanted to help those less fortunate than himself.
Clint loved people. He never met an enemy and this is reflected in the myriad of friends who cared for him dearly. Clint spent his life in the service industry, working with Jim’s Restaurants, Starbucks, and most recently Club Humidor at the Menger. Always available to listen, advise, or just to share a story or two, he brought sunshine and love to everyone he knew.
Clint was preceded in death by his grandparents Patricia & George Justl and Marguerite & James G. Davidson. He is survived by his loving parents Susie and Dick Justl, sister Shelby Justl of Philadelphia, uncles Paul, Mike, and David Justl, cherished friends and the love of his life and companion of 12 years, Gina Reyes. Our thanks to the doctors and staff at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the gentle and kind care he received.
Forever in our hearts, you changed the life of everyone you met with a story and a joke or two, you made us laugh, you made us happy, and for that we are blessed. Clint, our hearts are broken, but we thank the Lord for your life and for your love. A celebration of Clint’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. On Wednesday, April 8, 2015 a rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. at Santo Niño Catholic Church, 5655 Rigsby Ave. 78222, with a mass following at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
