On Saturday, July 31st, 2021, Casimiro V. Nolasco Jr., devoted husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 76. “Jun,” as many of his family and friends called him, was born on September 21st, 1944 to Casimiro Nolasco Sr. and Angelina Vergara in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Jun was named valedictorian of his graduating class and pursued a civil engineering degree. He worked as a high school athletics manager, a maintenance department supervisor, and a businessman. He led two church organizations, Legion of Mary and Marians Choir and was a member of Couples for Christ. As the eldest of twelve children, he helped raised his siblings and was a second father to them. He immigrated with his wife and children to the United States more than 20 years ago with very little money and managed to send all three children through college.
Jun loved to cook, watch Korean drama, and connect on Facebook. He enjoyed attending get-togethers, reunions, and travelling. He was the life of the party, a social butterfly, and an amazing cook. He was charismatic, a born leader, and known to have a generous heart. He was a big brother, devoted father, affectionate husband, and a loyal friend.
Jun was preceded in death by his father Casimiro Sr., his mother Angelina, and his brother Henry. He leaves behind his wife Luz, his three children Jaja, Karen, and Paolo; grandchildren Ava, Jasmine, and Ethan; sons-in-law Mark and Jem and daughter-in-law Francy; siblings Praxie, Terry, Rey, Vee, Louie, Abel, Nancy, Noel, Allen, and Nannette; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many more family members who will greatly miss his presence.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 6:00-9:00pm at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, Texas 78232. A rosary service will begin that evening at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 6970 Kitchener Street, San Antonio, Texas 78240, with a procession to follow to Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, Texas 78266. A reception will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 12:30pm.
