San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by his family. He was born January 23, 1944, in
San Antonio, Texas, to John C. and Lillian H. Powell. He was a graduate of
Burbank High School, where he was a class President and member of the
marching band. He was a Pre-med graduate of The University of Houston. He
was married to his devoted wife of 44 years, Barbara. He was retired from
Revlon Corporation and then became active in the car wash industry, he was
also an Auctioneer for several different agencies. He was also an active Alumnus
of the Burbank Scholarship committee. Brad loved live music and was an avid
swing dancer, with a love of Rhythm and Blues and the Western swing. He was
determined to overcome his stroke by his daily work-outs at Gold’s Gym, where
he had many friends and supporters. Brad was known for his fun loving
personality by all who met him. He is predeceased by his mother, Lillian Powell,
father, John Powell and twin brother, Bedford Powell. He is survived by his wife,
Barbara, his two step children, Edward Barry,Jr. (Tara), and Debbie Behnke (Bill),
and twin granddaughters, Berkley and Ella Behnke. We would like to thank his
devoted caregiver, Esmerelda and husband Alex for their love and care. His
family and friends are invited to attend his visitation and funeral service which will
be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, visitation to begin at 2:00 p.m. and the funeral
will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio,
Texas 78218, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
