Arturo Soto

Arturo Soto, born November 19, 1983 in San Antonio, Texas was called to be with the Lord on December 30, 2016 at the age of 33. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesus and Angelina Tagle and Jose and Guadalupe Soto and his uncle Jose Soto. He is survived by his beloved parents Marcos and Francisca Soto, his siblings Vangelina Samarripas (Jesse), Marcos Soto Jr. (Gloria), Veronica Perez (Mike), and Daniel Soto; nieces and nephews, Jesse and Illiana Samarripas, Christina, Marcos, and Matthew Soto, Gabriella Soto and Nyah and Iyanna Perez.

He was a 2002 South San graduate and went on to earn his Bachelors Degree, at McPherson college in Kansas, on a basketball scholarship. He returned and mentored and coached young men in the AAU Basketball Community. He was deeply loved by all and will be missed by many family and friends.

The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral procession will depart on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park South.
