Arthur Canizales

Arthur Canizales, age 78, passed away February 20, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on March 29, 1942 in Cameron, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Domitila Canizales, siblings, Mary Esquivel, George Canizales, Alice Berry, Rosie Hinson and Joe Canizales. Arthur is survived by his wife, Virtudes S. Canizales; children, Arthur Canizales Jr. and Olga Victoria Canizales Molina; granddaughter, Courtney Grace Molina; siblings, Amelia Daniels, Paul Canizales, Isabel Flores, Susie Marcum and Rudy Canizales; numerous nieces and nephews.

Arthur was a loving husband, father and Appo. A proud veteran and hero, retiring from the US Army after 25 years of service and earning the Silver and Bronze Star medals during the Vietnam War. He dedicated another 20 years to Civil Service, always calling Texas home.

Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238 on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday March 12, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery March 19, 2021 at 10:30 A.M.
