Antonio A. Vasquez entered the loving hands of our Lord on February 3, 2023 at the age of 74. Antonio was born in San Antonio, TX on February 20, 1948 to Amalia Anguiano and Rumaldo Vasquez. He was the eldest of six children.
He met Rita Vasquez at the age of 10, while swinging in the park. Rita needed help with the swing, and their paths intertwined forward. They were married on August 21, 1966 and together had two sons Tony Jr. and Walter. A marriage that would last 56 years, creating the beginning of three generations of family. Antonio loved his family; his pride and joy were his two boys. As they grew up and started playing little league, he never missed a game. As grandchildren and great-grandchildren entered his life, his love grew more. Any games, plays, events the grandkids did he attended. He took pride in providing for his family and worked hard for them. He enjoyed family time of barbequing, watching football, going to the movies, road trips, and especially liked big parties with lots of food and cake. He also enjoyed his home time with his wife sitting in the back yard and watching game shows.
Tony learned of hard work at a young age. He worked at Lackland AFB shining shoes. Later in years, he started working at the skating rink where he learned to be a good skater. He worked for several companies, and retired on May 30, 2019 from Red McCombs Toyota after 27 years. During his 27 years he had many accomplishments, including a five-diamond ring representing over $1M each year in auto part sells, Team Excellence Master Certified 2007, and Fixed Operations Champion Third Quarter 2013.
Tony was a man of faith who loved the Lord as well as his family deeply. He attended Nuestra Señora de San Juan De Los Lagos and later moved to St. Timothy Catholic Church. He dedicated his time ushering and never missed a mass with Father Mike.
Antonio will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Amalia and Rumaldo Vasquez ; brothers, Daniel Vasquez, Luis Vasquez and Michael Vasquez; sisters, Annette Vasquez, Loretta Roque, and Sue Miller; parent-in-laws, Telesforo and Salome Vasquez.
Antonio’s memory will forever live on through his wife, Rita Vasquez Vasquez; Sons, Antonio Vasquez Jr. (Paulita) and Walter G. Vasquez (Diane). Grandchildren, Robert A. Vasquez (Yolanda), Cassandra Ambach (Jon), John A. Vasquez (Mattie), Justin Vasquez, Klarissa, and Gulieanna Vasquez; great-grandchildren, Aiden Vasquez, Zander Vasquez, Dimitri Vasquez, Oliver Vasquez, Jackson Ambach and one more on the way, Lorenzo Ambach. Brother, Ruben Vasquez (Avelina); nieces; nephews; cousins and numerous extended family and friends.
