 My most sincere condolences to Maritza,her fam.,Brenda,Malinda, and Eloy and their fams. and all of the Gomez fam. for the loss of their loved one.Cocono as I and my husband Javier knew him was our best friend and compadre for we baptized Brenda. We were friends since high school.
Cocono  was there with me and my family when his best friend Javier  was at the Veterans's Hospital and he was with us when he passed away on  on Dec. 5, 2005.Cocono was a great friend, and a great compadre. He was thoughtful. respectful, kind ,and always  there if we needed anything .We spent many times together in all kinds of activities, we were together in Ft.Polk too. I am very sorry I couldn't go to the services because I am in Arizona, but I was there in spirit .May  God give all of you the strength to carry on during this very painful time .I  will always remember Cocono as a great person, friend, and compadre May he rest in peace, Sincerely,Frances Solis, Brownsville, Texas

Maritza, my sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy on the loss of Anastacio.  He was a kind and good man.  He was much admired and respected by all veterans who knew him.  He had many friends from all branches of the military.  I feel very privileged that he considered me his friend.  He will be greatly missed by all of us in the VFW.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Gomez family.  My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting him through the RCA organization at the VFW.  He was always a very pleasant, happy, respectful and honorable man and so full of love.  We all admired him and loved him so much.  He is already missed by us and so many others.  Maritza, thank you so much for sharing him with us.  May God give you and your family the strength you will need for the days ahead.  May God bless you and your family always. Dear Maritza, words can not express the loss of a wonderful husband, father, grand-father - childhood friend, school mate and fellow soldiers, as we served together. Our numerous telephone conversations and visits in Brownsville , plus your warm hospitality when I visited are inbedded in my heart. Comadre and the Gomez family; My sad and deepest condolences on your loss.  My Compadre and Brother in Arms Gomez, was one of those few men who understood and lived by the definition of Honor.  His integrity was such that I would follow him into battle with my eyes closed.  Compadre Gomez, had a warm smile for everyone and always made those around him feel comfortable.  I am privileged to have been his Compadre.  We lost a GREAT MAN.

 I am so sorry to hear about Anastacio's passing. He and I were classmates at Brownsville High School ('61). I will always remember Anastacio as a person with a smile always on his face. He seemed to be always happy and glad to see you every time. I will miss him, his warm smile of welcome and the sincere feeling he gave when he would greet you. God be with you my friend.
