Shirley Jean Dunn

She was born on April 8, 1944 in Mattoon, Illinois to Elmer and Bertha Hutson. She later went on to serve in the military and then began her career in healthcare as a CNA.

Shirley was preceded in death by grandparents Elmer Hutson & Lillie Josephine King and John Edward Martin & Maude W. Kaley; parents Elmer Hutson & Bertha Martin; spouses Carl Marino Sr., and Charles Ray Dunn, Sr.; sister Carolyn “Carrie” Metzler; brother Danny Hutson; daughter Laura Sarabia; and great-granddaughter Leilani Sarabia.

Those left to cherish her memory are sister Judy Bowlin; children Carl Marino and wife Cheryl, Robert Marino and wife Joanna, and Charles Dunn Jr. and wife Debra; grandchildren Anna Dunn, Jessica Dunn, Brian Sarabia and wife Krystal, Juan Sarabia, Eric Sarabia, Jennifer Fitzwater, and Jessica Fitzwater; and great-grandchildren Natalie Sarabia and Jaxx Sarabia.

Memorial services will be held on May 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Southland Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the Dunn family asks that you make a memorial donation in Shirley’s name to Water for All or Rust Street Ministry.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Laura Kirby for all her love and compassion she shared with Shirley.
