Rita Jane Hamilton

Rita Jane Hamilton, 66, of May, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in San Angelo. She was born on Friday, September 10, 1948 in Long Beach, California. Rita married the love of her life, Dale Hamilton, on Saturday, December 11, 1965 in Tulia, Texas. She attended the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of May, Texas. Rita owned and operated Hampco Gate Guard Service Incorporated with her husband for a number of years. She has been described as being “a take charge” lady with a giving heart and bubbly personality. Rita never met a stranger and was community minded. She was a member of the American Legion and participated in the Tuesday Senior Games each week. Rita enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. She took great pride in her home, family and friends. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Rita is preceded in death by her father, Jeff Bivens.

A celebration of her life and memorial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the American Legion Hall, Post 470 of May, Texas with Pastor Richard Couch officiating. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Dale Hamilton; sons, William Hamilton and his wife, Melissa, and Robert Hamilton and his wife, Tia; grandchildren, Miranda, Carissa, Kody, Kaden and Koltan; mother, Charlene Bivens; siblings, Ronald Bivens, Laquita Bell, and Ray Bivens; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
