Richard Gomez Bejil Sr.

Richard married Estella Gonzales on November 22, 1953. Richard met Estella when he was 8 years old and told everyone that one day he was going to marry her and on November 22, 1953 he took her hand in marriage. Richard and Estella had 5 children.

Richard will be remembered for his love of golf as he participated in many tournaments alongside his son, brother and many friends throughout Texas.

Preceded in death were his wife, his son Richard Bejil, Jr., his sisters Ignacia Bejil, Adelina Aguirre, Brother Jacinto Gomez and his beloved companion Schnitzel.

Richard is survived by his children, Elizabeth Bejil, Roger Bejil and wife Rebecca, Ernestina Luna and Husband Daniel and Robert Bejil, Sr.; Brother Johnny Vigil, sisters Catarina Hernandez and Elida Ruiz, and numerous nieces and nephews of whom he loved dearly. Also left to cherish Richard's memory are his extra special 22 Grandchildren and 60 Great Grandchildren and 16 Great-Great Grandchildren ... every single one of them.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Bejil, Greg Bejil, Roger Bejil, Jr., Henry Neaves, Robert Bejil, Jr., Richard Bejil, IV, and James Reyes. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Robert John Bejil and Jesse Reyes, Jr.
