Mary G Garcia

Mary G. Garcia, 81, was called home on January 9, 2018, while surrounded by loved ones. Mary was born to Ricardo and Eva Guevara on May 15, 1936 in Crystal City, Texas. Mary married Fred A. Garcia Sr. in April of 1953 and they had four children. She then made the decision to not only obtain her GED, but continue on to earn her LVN degree and license. Her dutiful work ethic and determination has been passed down to her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred A Garcia Sr., sister, Yolanda Garza; and brother, Ramon Guevara. Survivors include her son, Richard M. Garcia Sr. and fiancé, Diane; daughter, Rose Garcia; daughter, Barbara Garcia; son, Fred Garcia Jr. and wife, Sherri; grandchildren, Richard M. Garcia Jr. and wife, Meredith, Corin Minica and husband, James, Jacob Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Lucas Garcia, Dominic Garcia; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in law, Bertha Garcia, Marcelina Wozniak, and Elaine Davilla; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

A rosary will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Johnson’s Funeral Home at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Holy Angels Catholic Church at 10am with interment to follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mary’s grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, Mary would appreciate your donations to the Texas Alzheimer’s Research and Care Consortium.
