Marilyn was born on July 2, 1939 in Oakland, California to Leonard and Joan Jackson. She attended school in Monahans, Texas.
Marilyn worked for Hewitt Packer, as a Documentation Manager as well as for the Rolm Company, a division of Hewitt Packer. For a few years, she worked as a Realtor and belonged to the Realtors Association.
On May 16, 1970, Marilyn married Sam Menchaca. She loved decoupage and made many tables from large utility spools. She also loved knitting, caring for her plants and collecting, what she called “old junk”, antiques.
Marilyn was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kniep.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Sam; two daughters, Michelle Longoria and Kathryn Walker; four grandchildren, Candace R. Longoria, Brianna L. Longoria, Derian Havard and Caden Havard; and a sister, Leona Jackson Olson.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Johnson’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
