She was born on February 19, 1946 in Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico to Bartolo & Hortensia Cortez. Gloria went on to obtain a Business Degree from Commercial Academy in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. She began her career in the banking industry working for Bancomer (now BBVA) before continuing on with the Social Security Administration.
Gloria married Manuel Leos on December 27, 1968 and had four children. Gloria was a proud member of Segunda Iglesia Bautista and had a passion for helping others. She will always be remembered for her selfless devotion to her children and grandchildren.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Bartolo and Hortensia Cortez.
Left to cherish Gloria's memory are her husband, Manuel Leos; children, Hector Leos (wife Juanita), Gloria Leos Robledo (husband Carlos), Flor Leos Madero (husband John), and Ivanna Leos Rocha (husband Joe); grandchildren, Joanna Leos, Annabella Leos, Karla Robledo, Carlos Robledo, Christian Robledo, Manuel Robledo, Julian Madero, Pablo Madero, Sol Madero, Samantha Rocha, Sasha Rocha, and Seth Rocha; and great-grandchild, Andre Chavez. Also left are Gloria's siblings, Maricela Cortez, Hortencia Cortez, Jorge Cortez, and Cesar Cortez.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 6 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23, 2023. A Homegoing Ceremony will be held at 11 AM at Johnson's Funeral Home with interment to follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Julian Madero, Pablo Madero, Carlos Robledo, Christian Robledo, Seth Rocha, and Jonathan Ornelas. Honorary pallbearers are Manuel Robledo, Joanna Leos, Karla Robledo, Samantha Rocha, Sasha Rocha, Annabella Leos, Sol Madero, and Colton Chitsey.
The Leos family would like to thank Gloria's Enhabit Home Health team, the caring staff from Shannon 6 South and doctors, Shannon RCTC. The family would also like to extend a special, heartfelt thank you to Pearl Montano for the beautiful ways she cared and loved Gloria.
