She was born on March 17, 1921 in Knickerbocker, Texas to Luis and Sara Ornelas Gomez. Clara married Antonio Sosa in 1941 and the couple welcomed four children into the world. In their younger years, she and Antonio enjoyed going to dances and parties with their sisters and spouses. Clara also enjoyed taking her three sisters, Julia Perez, Pola Delgado, and Elogia Zamarron to Bingo. Most recently, she enjoyed her favorite TV show "La Rosa De Guadalupe". Clara was a proud member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for many years. She will always be remembered for her love of cooking her family's favorite meals and visiting with her many nieces, nephews, and all who stopped by regularly.
Clara is survived by two sons, Gilbert Sosa, and Armando (Maria) Sosa of San Antonio, TX; and daughter, Olga Sosa of San Angelo, TX; and sister-in-law, Sarah Gomez of Brownwood, TX. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Tony Ray Sosa, Alex Sosa, Adrian Sosa, Gabriel Sosa, Marisol Sosa, Jeremy Sosa, Jason Sosa, Rachel Waser, Stefan Johnson, Erika Sosa, Ricky Sosa, Nydia Sosa, 21 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio R. Sosa; son, Tony G. (Hope) Sosa, granddaughter, Christina Cassity, and 14 brothers and sisters. She was the last of the Gomez Legacy.
A Rosary will be held at 7 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
