He was born on January 12, 1979 in San Angelo to Tom Clifton and Melissa Kinard. Chris attended Sonora High School and graduated in the class of 1997. He later went on to obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration from Angelo State University. Chris then began his lifetime career in sales. Chris married Kortney Nicole on October 18, 2022.
Chris was a sweet and caring father. He will always be remembered for the unwavering love he had for his children. Chris' youngest son, Colt, recalled that "he always showed up for everything, even times when he wasn't supposed to - he would be the only parent there watching me practice." In addition to his love of fatherhood, Chris will be remembered for his quick wit and fun sense of humor.
Chris is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ruth and Nolen Gibbs; and paternal grandparents, Betty and Lawrence Clifton.
Left to cherish Chris' memory are his wife, Kourtney Clifton of San Angelo; father, Tom Clifton and wife Stephanie of Kerrville; mother, Melissa Kinard and husband Mike of Longview; son, Austin Clifton and Kat Lopez of San Angelo; son, Colt Clifton of San Angelo; daughter, Landry Clifton of San Angelo; and grandchild, Hazel Clifton of San Angelo. Also left are siblings, Rebecca Terrazas of Henderson, Emily Valverde and husband Keaun of Kerrville, and Davis Clifton of Kerrville; nieces and nephews, Gavin, Talen, Trent, and Trey Terrazas, Jaylen Turner, and Landon Valverde.
A celebration of Chris' life will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Johnson's Funeral Home.
