Cathy Lu Watson

After a long and hard-fought battle with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, our beloved CATHY LU WATSON, entered the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 23, 2012. Cathy was born in San Angelo on June 16, 1952. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Watson, and her brother-in-law, Jesse Peitchinsky. Cathy is survived by her mother, Frances Watson, her sister, Becky Peitchinsky, her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Sam Keel, her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Suzy Watson; one nephew, Dan Keel, and nieces, DD Boschert and husband Danny, Carmen Copeland and husband Jim, and Wendi Porche and husband Kevin. She is also survived by great-nieces and nephews who were her greatest pride and joy: Maegan Hillhouse, Corbin and Grace Keel, Jordan, Jeremy and Laynee Porche and Trey Boschert and her best friend, Shiralon Stevens. Cathy graduated Lake View High School in 1970 and attended Angelo State University. Cathy was employed as a bookkeeper for Jones, Hay, Marschall, McKinney, PC for 35 years, making her coworkers and clients her second family. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church all her life and loved the time she spent working in the youth department. One of her most admirable qualities was her love of Jesus and willingness to share her faith and church home with all she met. Cathy loved to travel with family, play games with the kids, and watch any sport available, most especially the Texas Rangers, Lake View Chiefs, and the Wall Hawks. The family would like to thank the kind staff of Hospice of San Angelo for the loving and tender care they provided to Cathy and our family these past weeks, as well as to all the many people who have supported and prayed for Cathy over the years. Pall bearers will be Cathy’s long time friends: Mark Dunlap, Mark Bruton, Roger Welch, Ross Dutton, Bobby Stevens, and Byron Beal. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of San Angelo, Immanuel Baptist Church, Wall Middle High library, or a charity of your choice. Two of Cathy’s last requests were no sad music at the funeral and for all attending her service to where bright, happy colors in celebration of her life.
