Barbara J. Rogers

Barbara J. Rogers, 77, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 1:45 a.m., surrounded by her loving family at her residence in San Angelo. She was born July 16, 1940, in Big Spring, Texas. Barbara was the daughter of E.O. and Myrtle Burchett.

Family visitation is on Thursday, January 4th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Friday, January 5th, at 1 p.m. at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George Clark Rogers, both parents E.O. and Myrtle Burchett, and Sister Louise (Burchett) Wright. Survivors include brother Jerry Burchett from Onalaska; daughter Lynda Wheeler of San Angelo, Texas, and her three children David Williams, Kayla Williams (her husband Clint Head, and two children Kason & Brooklyn) and Brittany Wheeler; son Scott Rogers of San Angelo, Texas, and his fiancé Wendy, as well as his son Cody Rogers (wife Kelly and their three children Cymbree, Gunner, and Jaylen) and daughter Krista Rogers (four children Aaleigha, Jesse, Alex, Jocelyn); son Mark Rogers of Big Spring, Texas, and his wife Melissa, and their three children Matthew Callison (his wife Kay), Breanna, and Brandon.

Barbara was employed as a civil servant at Goodfellow Air Force Base until she retired in 1995. She loved watching tennis, volleyball, NASCAR, basketball, playing pinochle, and above all, spending time with family members. Barbara "Mimi" will be remembered as a beloved and loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed dearly and remembered forever.
