Armando was raised in Ballinger, where he attended school as a Bearcat. He worked at the Ballinger Compress and Mueller Supply for many years as a machine operator. He married the love of his life, Clara, in 1997 and they made their life in San Angelo. He became a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Some of his talents were playing adult softball for many years, being a member of Fire in The Hole grilling team and his quick wit. He had an unconditional love for the Raiders football team. He was blessed to be cared for and loved for many years by his Cladie-Boo. He leaves behind his man’s best friend, Coco. Mando will be remembered for his big heart and love for all. Regardless of the hands dealt, he made the absolute best of each day given.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Daniel DeLaCerda, and a grandson Rosendo Antonio Zapata IV.
He is survived by his wife Clara, children Isaac DeLaCerda and wife Ashley of San Angelo, Tony Martinez and wife Jessica of Abilene, Michelle Aguilera and husband Damacio of Ballinger, Amanda DeLaCerda of Winters, and Gabriella DeLaCerda and Antonio Zapata III of San Angelo. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cristiano, Elena and Camille DeLaCerda, Xalyn, Lane, and Aria Martinez, Olivia, Ava, and Addy Aguilera, Kassandra Cabrera-DeLaCerda, and Sebastian Zapata. Also surviving are his siblings Elia Mendoza, John DeLaCerda and wife Lucy, Adela Shelburne and husband Kent, and Inez Mendoza all of San Angelo and Joe DeLaCerda and wife Rachel of Midland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held Sunday, November 29, at 6:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Monday, November 30, at 10:00 am
at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A private burial will take place at a later date.
