Wilford Brent Christensen passed away at the age of 66 on March 19, 2015. He was born to Wilford Elmer and Betty June Christensen on August 8, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Murray High School. Wilford married Charolet Wardle February 26, 1968 in Murray, Utah. He was married and sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple in 1981 to Charolet Christensen. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Lattter-day Saints.
As a young 17 year old man, he served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy which instilled a lifetime of patriotism for his beloved country. He passed this love for America onto his children. He also worked for the Postal Service for 17 years. He was a proud family man who loved his wife and children. He was very big hearted. He loved the church and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and love of God. He served as a temple worker in the Jordan River LDS temple. He enjoyed retirement, spending time raising his granddaughter Belle and traveling the country with his wife.
He is survived by his children Shelli (Paul) Bergman, Kerry Christensen, Nickolas (Katie) Christensen, Andreia (Adrian) Rockwell, his mother Betty Christensen, siblings Karalee (Bob) Harwood, Mark (Karen), Perry (Kim), Ron, and Wendy (Wade) Bowles and 7 grandchildren, Brittni, Brianna and Zachary Bergman, Jacob, Lilith and Jack Christensen and Abigail Rockwell.
He is preceded in death by his father Wilford E. Christensen and brothers Stephan Paul and Lynn Alan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 11:00a.m. at Westland 4th Ward (7171 S 2700 W) in West Jordan. Friends and family may call Monday March 23 from 6-8pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn (3401 S Highland Drive) following services.
