Wanda was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 6, 1939 to Whitney and Emily Marguerite Wright and was the third of five children. Wanda was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School. She married the love of her life, Warren Young, on December 2, 1960 in the Logan Temple. She spent her life in Holladay, Utah where they raised five children she supported them in all their endeavors and gave them the best childhood. While raising her children, Wanda also found time to play an integral role helping Warren run Young’s Photo, a successful photography business. Later, Wanda worked for Nelson Laboratories, she would proudly say she was their third employee. She retired in 2007. Wanda enjoyed puzzles, games (especially “idiot”), crossword puzzles and spending time with her family (Sunday dinners were the best). Christmas was her favorite time of year; she loved having the entire family over to celebrate. She enjoyed spoiling her children and grandchildren while listening to Johnny Mathis Christmas music.
Wanda was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the primary and relief society and was ward librarian for over 20 years.
Wanda is survived by her loving children, who will miss her dearly, Tracee (Wilton) Lolofie, Rodney (Lisa) Young, Joni (Pat) Calloway, Steve Young, Doug (Dawn) Young as well as her eight grandchildren, Alyssa Lolofie, Tyler Young, Kali (Matt) Moore, Bailee (Connor) Berry, Brian (Jessah) Bednar , Michael (Julie) Bednar, Morgan Young, Alex Young, and one great-grandchild Oakley Bednar. Wanda is predeceased by her beloved husband Warren Young, her grandson Spencer Bednar, her sister’s Donna Wells and Jeanine Gibbs and both of her parents. Mom, we know you’re having a beautiful reunion in heaven with Dad and all your loved ones that you have missed for so many years. You fought hard, now rest easy our loving angel mom!
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m at the Olympus Stake Center (2675 East 4430 South). Viewing will be held prior to the funeral service at the Olympus Stake Center from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
