Lynn Nelson

1916 ~ 2011

Our dear, sweet husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend said "Goodbye" to this world & "Hello" to loved ones & good friends who have been patiently waiting at "home" on January 13, 2011.

He is survived by his wife Lois, his 4 children, Steven (Pam), Brian (Gayle), Janice (Grant) & George (Maureen), 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren plus 3 more future arrivals & brother, Marvin.

Born December 16, 1916 to Ellen & Andrew Nelson in Provo, Utah. He graduated from Provo high school & BYU in accounting. Lynn served an LDS mission to Canada staying true to his faith his whole life. He joined the Army Air Corp during WWII where he met his sweetheart of 66 years, Lois Troxel, who was serving in the Army Nurse Corp. Together they raised their 4 children with compassion & love. When the "nest" was finally empty they traveled the country, moved to the warmer weather of St. George & enjoyed all their grand & great grandchildren where "grandpa's pancakes" couldn't be beat & still can't.

Lynn made friends easily & had many. The twinkle in his eye & warm welcoming smile invited all.

Thank you, Daddy and Granddad, for enriching our lives with yours.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 18, 2011 at 11:00am at the LDS Quail Run Chapel, 9245 S. Quail Run Drive, Sandy Utah. There family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45am prior to the service. Interment will be immediately after at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, SLC.
