Karen was born on the 19th of September 1959 to Beverly Ann and Joseph John Taylor Jr. and sealed to them on the 27th of June 1960. She was taken home to her father in heaven on the 23rd of May, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Russell Oliver Payne. They were married & sealed on the 9th of April, 1981. Together they had three children; Justin, Anthony (Myra), & Sara. Her Grandson Wylie was the light of her life.
She was the second of six children and is survived by four siblings; Christie, John (Cindy), Pam, and Laureen (David). Karen and Laureen shared a birthday and were precisely five years apart. She is preceded in death by her older sister Vickie and both of her parents. She always had strong views about supporting her family and was like a second mother to her nephew & niece, Shaun & Alicia, and a second grandmother to their children; Willow, Autumn, & Aiden. She was also the caregiver for her younger sisters, Christie & Pam, for several years.
She served as primary chorister and other callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was well enough to do so. She loved to be a room mother for her children when they were still in school. She also worked as the “nice” lunch lady in their school cafeteria for a few years.
Despite her long history of surgery and illness, Karen had never-ending faith, was Kind & loving, and was often found with a smile. She enjoyed singing, road trips and long car rides, old movies, crafts, gardening, and being an avid BYU football fan. Karen was an example of love and faith, a peacekeeper, advocate, well of strength, and champion for every member of her family and friends.
